Orchestr, který pracuje při Základní umělecké škole Krnov, byl založen v roce 1961 uměleckým vedoucím a dirigentem Karlem Dospivou.

První vystoupení se uskutečnilo 1. května 1962. Pod náročným vedením Karla Dospivy se orchestr brzy po svém vzniku přiřadil k nejlepším mládežnickým dechovým orchestrům v republice a toto postavení si udržel dodnes. Svědčí o tom četná ocenění z domácích i zahraničních soutěží. Koncertní skladby pro dechové orchestry českých i cizích autorů, které tvoří těžiště repertoáru, zazněly na pódiích v řadě evropských zemí.
Za více než 40 let existence prošlo orchestrem téměř 400 hráčů, žáků Základní umělecké školy v Krnově. V současné době má orchestr 60 členů ve věku od 10 do 26 let.

The Brass Orchestra for Youth in Krnov
The Brass Orchestra for Youth at the Music School in Krnov was founded in 1961 and has been still led by its art director Karel Dospiva.
The first performance was held on 1st May 1962. Under the exacting leading the orchestra soon reached the steady position among the best young orchestras in the Czech republic and firmly keeps this position. Many awards from Czech and outland competitions just confirm this fact. Concert pieces of Czech and foreign authors as the main part of the orchestra´s repertory were performed in many European countries.
Within more than 40 years nearly 400 young musicians, pupils of the music school, have passed through the orchestra. Today the orchestra has 60 members of age from 10 to 26 years.
